Boxing star

On the 30th of May a special star came to meet the kauri team. Can you guess who it is? Here are some clues!

. She is a boxer

.She won a bronze medal at the in the 2018 Commonwealth Games for NZ

If you guessed Alexis Pritchard then you are right! Alexis came here to give us some information on how she  became a boxer. She said that she was just like us she didn't want to be a boxer she just wanted to be a doctor. She also gave us some advise, she said

. Be brave
. Face your fears

Stardome Experience!

On Friday the 17th of May, room 24, 25 and room 22 all went to the amazing Stardome Observatory.  Our hosts name was Josh he took us though all of the pictures and work. We learned about space, the solar system and our planets. After we did a awesome quiz  with the people we sat with. We had to answer the questions that was on our iPad, oh did I mention that each group got a iPad? We also went into a little planetarium to watch a virtual reality like movie. It was so much fun and here are some photos of the place.

Tessallation with MR P

In room 24 Mr P showed us what tessellation is. I did 2 but I will only show you one today. Tessellation is a pattern that repeats and makes like an illusion. I haven't done a tessellation before so this is the first one I tried to do.

The Unreal Session

On the 1st of May rm 24 went into room 8  for a VR session. VR stands for Virtual Reality that means you are not there but you can look every where and you will see something different. But we just learned about our oceans around New Zealand.Here are some pictures!

I really enjoyed it because it was a AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!I loved it very much.
