First Buddy Class 2019

Yesterday room 24 had their first buddy class together in the library. Our buddy class is room 6  so they are just turning 6. Me and my older buddy Aundreah went with a little girl named Kalani Rose. She is very cute and she loves all that princesses and castles. 

It was really fun hanging out with them and being the older ones this time.😁

Matariki Planet art

This term room 24 is learning about planets and space. This week is Matariki and the art that we are doing has something to do with both Matariki and space. We did some art that includes stars, planets and cool comets.  First we made stencils to shape out our planet, than we blended pastels together to make the planets colours. We also made some comets with pastels and our finger.( How to do it) Draw a thick layered circle with white chalk and put your finger on the dot and slide the direction you want it to go. We also did some toothbrush flicking to make some tiny stars to make it realistic. Here is my art work I did.

I enjoyed blending the colours and learning how to make different star shapes. It was really fun and creative!

The 5 Ws

This week is week 6 and room 24 has been learning about using the 5 Ws in out descriptive writing and improving it. The 5 Ws are Where, When, Who, What and Why and sometimes you can use how. It really does make your writing more interesting and here is some writing of my work.

Ratio Learning

This week in room 24 we have been learning about ratios. A ratio is a way of comparing two or more quantities. Say if I had 2 bags of sugar and 1 tub of butter my ratio would be 2:1. We did some art with tape and paint and we designed our own  colours of paint. Here is my work!

I really enjoyed doing the art because we don't really paint for maths. It was really fun making my own colours!
