Bird Talk

It is Green Week at Owairaka School and we are learning about native birds of New Zealand. Native means that it will only belong to New Zealand. This morning room 24 and many other classes went to the hall to learn about birds and predators and what they eat. We saw a Tui, owl, a giant hawk,Kereru ,But I can't remember the other birds. ( Don't worry they were stuffed)

One fact I found very interesting was that owl's hunt at night, that is why they have big eyes, It is like night vision goggles in eye shaped!

To look after our New Zealand birds we need to hunt possums our birds predators! Here are some photos.




It was really fun to learn about our native birds!
