Sound Experiment

Yesterday, Room 24 did 2 experiments about sound. Sound can be heard by your ears or you can even feel sound!

The first experiment we used...

  • A bowl
  • Sprinkles
  • Glad Wrap
This experiment was about seeing sound. This happened by seeing the sprinkles jump up and down. We had to low hummmm to see that.

The second experiment we used...

  • Cups
  • String
In the experiment we paired up. I went with my friend Deborah. Each pair got 2 cups and some string. You attach them together, and you can talk and listen through the cups. I learnt that this happens because of the string in the middle. When we talk the sound bounces of the string, towards the other person's cup. You can hear each other, as long as the string is straight and the string is attached.

We tried doing different things with the cups, like...
  • Talking from round the corner
  • Putting a not in the middle of the string
  • making the string sorter

Here are some photos!

Have you ever tried any of these experiments? My favourite was definitely the cup experiment! BLOG YA LATER!😊
