Genre: Sick Sentences

HELLO! This week Room 24 have been learning about genre's and how to use them in writing.

We had to fix this sentence and change it into different kind of stories: The man sat on the bench. He held the flowers in his hands.

Here is my Drama and Horror stories.

Drama

In his head, the man sings his wife's favourite song and tears start to drip down his wrinkly face. He closes his eyes and looks back to him and his wife arguing in the car. Tears drip down his kids face, like a never ending waterfall. They sit in the back of the car, frightened by the words passing between their parents. Stressed and distracted, in the next moment he drifts off the cliff killing his wife and children.

GASP! Suddenly, he awakes, and is back sitting on the cold demolished bench. Surrounded by loneliness and mist.

Horror

Sadly, the exhausted man sits quietly on the old bench. Peacefully, a red rose drifts down, like a peaceful ballerina, and lands on the man's wrinkly hands. The rose is covered in deadly blood, with a bit of human flesh sprinkled on the top, like a delicious cold sundae. Suddenly, he starts to see spirits running rapidly around him, and talking to him. “AHHHHHHHH” a terror scream echoes through the mans hurting ear. Mysteriously, he sees a dark shadow, scraping his metal and wooden tool on the concrete. In the distance, the shadow stops for a second, and suddenly starts to run swiftly towards the sleepy old man.

In the morning, the police found him lying on the ground with a shovel stabbed into his head.

I hope that you enjoyed reading my genre stories that I have been working on in the past couple of days. What is your favourite genre to use?
